Observe and judge
Perception, attention, memory, emotions, bias, comparison and decision-making.

About the author
Understanding how we judge, decide, learn and improve is the common thread running through his work.
His background brings together several fields that may initially seem quite different: dance and judging, mental preparation, education, and business consulting and valuation.
This range of experience has allowed him to observe the same fundamental process in very different environments: when facing a complex situation, we must perceive information, select what matters, interpret it, make a decision and sometimes be able to explain that decision.
Perception, attention, memory, emotions, bias, comparison and decision-making.
Competition, stress, attention and the ability to regain useful resources quickly in action.
Analysis, uncertainty, experience, intuition and turning observation into useful action.
As a dance judge and educator, Marc Delacour has developed a particular interest in the cognitive mechanisms that influence assessment: perception, attention, memory, emotions, judgement biases, comparison and decision-making.
His work as a mental coach has also led him to explore competitive preparation, dealing with the unexpected, stress management, attention and the ability to regain focus quickly while performing.
His professional experience in business consulting and valuation has provided another perspective on decision-making, particularly in situations where rational analysis must coexist with uncertainty, experience and intuition.
His books have grown out of this combination of practical experience, cognitive psychology and a constant search for concrete applications.
Through Éditions Perspectives, his aim is not simply to transmit knowledge. He seeks to help readers understand their own ways of thinking and turn that understanding into practical tools.
His books are therefore complemented by exercises, workbooks, training programmes and digital assistants designed to extend the reading experience and help readers apply the concepts to their own situations.
